About your merchandise
The merch I came up with this time is playing cards. Apart from group shots and solo shots, I thought it would be nice to have all kinds of designs, so I included the "Jumpuu" characters that Hikaru-kun
created.
I wanted to choose the combination of members not from my perspective, but from the perspective of all the fans. So, after having the staff do some research, I decided on these combinations. What inspired me to suggest playing cards in the first place came from my own experience. I've always cherished playing cards of my favourite artist that I bought a long time ago, even now. One time, I was playing with those cards with my friends and it was really exciting. We'd say things like, "Oh, this photo is nostalgic," or "The vibe of that time was really nice!" So I thought, if there were Hey! Say! JUMP playing cards, I'm sure all our fans would enjoy them.
And to be honest, a big reason why I wanted them is simply because I wanted them myself (laughs). Over the past few years, I haven't been able to interact much with staff during tours, so I also hope these cards will allow me to communicate this time.
About your new album, "PULL UP!"
The new album includes many songs recorded during my breaks in the butai "Hoshi Furu Yoru ni Dekakeyo," so my way of singing might be a bit different than usual. Especially during my butai, I was conscious of having strong vocals, so the songs I sang back then were a bit toned down in sweetness (laughs). I think my way of singing is also a record of that time, so I hope people can enjoy it as songs that are unique to that moment.
Of all the songs, 'PULL UP' was particularly enjoyable to record. I felt once again that the songs created by Tsujimura Yuki-san fit well with JUMP, and since there are many notes in the music, singing it was fun too.
'Ready to Jump' shows a new side of JUMP. I feel like calling this a music piece rather than just a song feels more fitting.
Some of you may have already seen the music video, but dancing to the beatbox was fresh and enjoyable. However, the choreography was quite challenging, so it was tough (laughs). Also, because I was watching Yamada's drama, I personally love the song 'Uraomote.' I think the momentum of the song is really great.
What do you want to "PULL UP"?
What I really want to PULL UP right now is probably my singing. Of course, I want to sing different styles of songs on our albums, but I also have opportunities to sing in butais, so I want to be able to sing in various vocal styles. Also, I don't mean this in a bad way, but I think it's important to place myself in different environments than before to enhance my ability to make choices and develop the skills to navigate
society. With increased freedom, it will be even more important to think for myself.
One more thing... I don't know if I can actually do it, but I want to PULL UP my running speed (laughs)! Since I was little, I've always been a slow runner, so I want to experience the sensation of being able to run fast, even if it's just once.
Message for fans
As the environment changes around us, I know that fans might be feeling some confusion and anxiety.
We feel the same way, but having the opportunity to be in a butai has been a great source of comfort for me. I've felt your support through your applause, and I've truly felt how important our fans are. To be honest, in the face of uncertainty, I've thought about many things. However, the thoughts and presence of our fans have helped clear my cloudy feelings. Like, 'Since you're here, I'll try to push forward a bit more!'
I continue to gain strength from you every day, and I'm deeply grateful to everyone who sticks with us.
While some things will change, our commitment to delivering enjoyable entertainment and doing what we need to do will remain unchanged. I hope you'll enjoy seeing our consistent selves during this tour and enjoy the entertainment with us!
