About your merchandise
The reason I made the room shoes as goods was because I wanted some to wear at home (laughs). Up until now, I had been using the slippers you can take home from hotels at our tour destinations, but they were kind of bland. I was torn between black and beige, so I surveyed the female staff, and most of them preferred beige. Since I think many of the people who will buy these will be women, I respected their opinion and went with beige.
The tour is in winter, and since many women are likely to be sensitive to the cold, I designed them to fully cover the feet.
The members also said, "I'll wear them in the dressing room," and of course, I'll be wearing them at home too, so we'll be matching with all the fans. Also, as I do this too, I recommend attaching a cleaner to the bottom of the slippers, so when you slide them around on the floor, it makes cleaning easier!
About your new album, "PULL UP!"
Like the title suggests, "Kimi no Mikata" is a song filled with the passionate feeling of "I'm on your side." During the recording, I imagined the fans and got really choked up... I thought, "I can't wait to deliver this directly at a concert to them."
The theme song for 'Kaseifu no Mitazono', which was "Sorezore." was also written by Kaoru-san again. The four-on-the-floor band sound is something we've never done before, and it felt refreshing thinking "what a catchy style this time!" and the straightforward lyrics really struck me deep.
Also, the demo tape for "Ano Hi no Yume o Misasete Yo" featured guide vocals by Uru-san, who was behind the creation of the song.
The song was so wonderful that I thought, "It's too bold for us to sing this!" But instead of trying to imitate Uru-san's voice, each member sang in a way that was so close to the world of the song and even made me, as a member myself, wonder, "Whose voice was that?" In the end, I think we created a piece of work with a high level of perfection.
This album has strong messages in each song, but at the same time, it feels like there are many ambient- sounding tracks that could also be used as background music. I think it would be really fun if the fans mixed the album tracks and singles to create 'their own unique setlist.'
What do you want to "PULL UP"?
What I've been 'PULLING UP' recently is how to cut pears.
I first cut them into eight pieces, and then peel each one, but I always get confused about how deep to cut when removing the core (laughs).
Pears have a big difference between the sweet and not-so-sweet parts, so I want to leave the sweet parts, but it's hard to tell where the boundary is. I don't struggle as much with apples because the position of the nectar or seed gives me a guide. Right now, I'm researching every day the best way to remove the core from pear. I have about six pears at home that I received as a gift, so I want to master it before I finish eating them (laughs).
By the way, I heard that if you want to eat an apple with the skin on, it's best to slice it into rings. I saw it on the news and tried it, and I was able to deliciously eat the whole apple Also, I've been feeling down after discovering that I have no stamina in the physical fitness test on 'Itadaki High Jump,' so I've started doing some running. It's not long-distance, but I've been intentionally taking the stairs, so my legs are always sore (laughs). But I think if I build up my stamina, I can eventually make use of it at concerts.
Message for fans
Having an audience for the concerts after the pandemic was truly emotional, but this tour feels even more meaningful. That said, the foundation of JUMP hasn't changed and I believe it never will. Whether it's friends or family, when something happens, seeing their faces and hearing their voices brings comfort, right? That's why I think everyone wants to see our faces now, and in the same way, we want to see everyone's faces too.
This tour is an opportunity for us to confirm that the concert JUMP has put on so far were not mistaken, and bring us comfort.
And above all, we hope to make it a concert where we can share the enjoyment with everyone!
