Looking back on the calendar photo shoot, "I felt that things were left up to me, so there were many moments where I was able to express myself, or let my confidence show. I think the fact that we couldn't see our fans has allowed us to take photos in situations where they can feel close to us."
Yuto’s hobby is also photography. As a photographer himself, he has the opportunity to take pictures of people and has these thoughts too.
"I only used to take pictures of landscapes, but I had a chance to take pictures of members for a magazine project. When I tried it, I started to learn what the photographer wants a subject to do. The person being photographed also has their own feelings and timing, so in the end it's a session between cooperating people. Sometimes it's nice when it all snaps together.
He is also active as a model. As a subject, he says it's important "to understand how you're being photographed on the monitor," and "to be aware that people choose your photos." He also added, "If different mediums have different themes, expressions are different too, so it's necessary to know how much of a gap there is between the picture you have in mind and the actual picture. But I try not to be too picky about how I want to be photographed. I think it's a "good shoot" if you get so many shots that it's hard for them to choose."
For Nakajima, the calendar is "something that's always with you and something you can be close to".
"In a real office we rented for a drama, there was a seat that had our goods and calendar. It's one of those things you look at when you're at work that encourages you, and I'm the same. I'm happy if I can play a small part in that.
His favourite event of the year is January 14, the day of Hey! Say! JUMP's debut.
"Last year we all happened to be working together that day, and the label people celebrated with a cake. It's a time when we don't usually get together, so it made us even happier. Next year will be our 15th anniversary. From here, I hope we can take on new challenges. I don't know what we'll be doing in 5 or 10 years, but I think there are some jobs we can do because we're a group, and it's a place that I hope will always be home. I'm sure by that time, we'll be able to show the importance of what we've been doing.
