Letter to Hikaru from Yabu

We first met when I was in my 6th grade of primary school and you were in 5th grade.

In the almost 20 years since then, a lot has happened.

We spent a lot of time at Johnny-san house watching videos of our seniors and studying them, and even hiding the smell of the fabric softener we didn't like in Johnny-san's house.

When you told me in tears that your mother had broken her arm, I thought about what a kind-hearted guy you are.

When I was crying because I couldn't attend the sports festival in my third year of middle school because of work, you hugged me gently which I still remember.

I have so many memories that I could go on and on.

When we first met, you couldn’t express yourself well and were soft-spoken, but since then you've been curious and had a lot of influence on me.

I admire you for your skillfulness, unlike me who is clumsy. But if I had to say one criticism, it would be that you sleep too much on set (laughs).

For me, Hikaru, you are my rival, my best friend, sometimes like my brother, and of course a very important member.

I want you to do more and more things I can't do, and if you live a long life with a good heart and spend everyday in good health, there's nothing more I can say.

We'll be together even when our hips start to bend.

Letter to Yabu from Hikaru

You're energetic to the point of being so annoying that you make my stomach ache (with laughter), and that cheerfulness always helps me.

You're the complete opposite of me who is intuitive. You look at your surroundings and think carefully and calmly before giving your thoughts.

What I feel is really great about you is your singing voice. It's very convincing. I would also like to discover my own singing voice through vocal training, instead of trying to rival yours. I think with each and every different tone we have, the more depth we have as a group.

When I met you for the first time, you were so impressive, even though you were surrounded by seniors, that it made me think, "So this is what kids in Tokyo are like."

But when I started talking to you, you were surprisingly child-like.

As soon as I joined, we sang "Yuuki 100%" together and we became close very quickly, and while I was in Miyagi, you became in charge of remembering my position since you're my symme (T/N: This is an abbreviation for symmetry and refers to two members who stand symmetrically on a stage).

I'm sorry about that, and thank you.

In the beginning, I got mad when I was told, "Get in sync with each other!", and although I was trying to be careful, it didn't work.

Somewhere along the line, we got in sync and now it feels like nothing.

It's natural for you to be here, and when you're not, it's not good. But I know I shouldn't take you for granted. I have to be grateful.
